BANNER MEN

Dystopic                         NOVEL
----------------------------------------

BANNER MEN is the story of a land that found itself in perpetual war as a product of the devastation to the world by a conflict that killed, which they now call the What Came Before.

And out of the rubble grew the Droke, a deeply scored valley where within were the Four Houses of Prudence, Godenheim, Rindlebrooke and Freeride, each with their own particular niche.

Each House has a Ruler and a Banner Man.  A Banner Man is the muscle, distributing justice sanctioned by the Ruler.  The Banner Men are also social workers, helpers, deliverers of valuable cargo, as they were willing to do the things no one else was mad enough to do.

And over the years, the war had mutated into something else - it became a battle between the Four Houses, in a war of pride and of money - it was mutually assured destruction, fought in the Battle Ground, which covers several miles of the Droke - through hills, mountains, forests and lakes; even old dead towns and villages.

BANNER MEN is not about one singular person.  It is about the Droke itself - the land, the people, the intrigue, the plotting, the subterfuge - all neatly contained in one neat package.

BANNER MEN is darkly comic, with tongue firmly planted in cheek throughout.
